Incheon Innovation Cluster for Environment Technology Incheon International Environmental Technology CONPEX

● Selected as a promising domestically based conference with expectations for sustainable global growth

● Securing KRW 100 million annually, up to KRW 600 million in national funding over a maximum of six years

The Incheon Innovation Cluster for Environment Technology (Director: Hee-gwan Lee) announced on the 12th that the Incheon International Environmental Technology CONPEX (The Incheon International Environmental Technology Confex) has been selected as a “K-Promising International Conference for Continued Support” under the Global K-Convention Promotion Program hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Tourism Organization.

According to the evaluation conducted by the Korea Tourism Organization as part of the 2025 Global K-Convention Promotion Program aimed at discovering and fostering sustainable, domestically based conventions, the Incheon International Environmental Technology CONPEX was recognized for its strong international impact and high growth potential. The evaluation noted that the conference has delivered tangible results by aligning the activation of global environmental R&BD with the objectives of K-MICE.

Designated in June 2022, the Incheon R&D Special Zone is the only environment-specialized zone in Korea, focusing on ICT-converged environmental pollution treatment and management. The zone identifies promising public technologies and commercialization demands to promote technology commercialization for carbon neutrality. It also expands global networks through the establishment of overseas branch offices, including in Mongolia, and supports tenant companies in developing global market access.

The 5th Incheon International Environmental Technology CONPEX is scheduled to be held around September this year. Building on its accumulated experience, the event aims to create a platform for practical cooperation by linking environmental technology research and development (R&D) with business development. The conference will strengthen networks among domestic and international companies and research institutions, while accelerating overseas market entry for zone companies by showcasing technologies and products addressing environmental issues such as carbon neutrality, resource circulation, and improvements in water and air quality on the global stage.

In addition, the Incheon Innovation Cluster for Environment Technology plans to invite experts from international organizations and overseas government agencies to broadly share global trends in environmental policy and technology, promote policy and technology exchanges, and explore cooperation. Customized theme-based tourism programs will also be prepared alongside the conference.

Director Hee-gwan Lee stated, “In 2026, we will differentiate the conference by focusing on building a global business platform, evolving into a conference centered on demonstration and technology transfer, and actively reflecting the latest environmental issues.” He added, “We will do our utmost to ensure that the Incheon International Environmental Technology CONPEX grows into a world-class environmental technology exhibition and conference beyond Incheon.”
