Incheon National University–Mondrian AI Meeting

Incheon National University (President: In-jae Lee) held an industry–academia cooperation meeting with AI company Mondrian AI on Wednesday, January 14, at the Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo. The meeting was organized to discuss mutual cooperation measures to strengthen education and research collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence and to foster regional talent.

The meeting was attended by six representatives from the College of Information Technology at Incheon National University, including Dean Woo-il Kim, Vice Dean Young-pil Kim, and Professor Jang-ho Lee. Mondrian AI was represented by five participants, including CEO Dae-ui Hong.

The event began with an overview of the university presented by Vice Dean Young-pil Kim of the College of Information Technology, followed by a presentation on the college’s research status by Professor Jang-ho Lee of the Department of Computer Engineering. Dean Woo-il Kim then introduced the progress of Incheon National University’s AI workforce development initiatives, after which CEO Dae-ui Hong of Mondrian AI shared an overview of the company along with its vision for future collaboration.

Through the meeting, the two institutions discussed various cooperation measures, including expanding collaboration in AI education and research and identifying joint industry–academia projects, and formed a shared understanding toward building a mutually beneficial partnership.

Meanwhile, the College of Information Technology at Incheon National University operated an “AI Extracurricular Education Program” in collaboration with Mondrian AI from December 2025 to January 16, 2026. The program was conducted online throughout December, followed by offline practical training sessions held at the College of Information Technology on Monday, January 12, and Friday, January 16.

Building on this meeting, Incheon National University and Mondrian AI plan to continue developing a close cooperative relationship that contributes to innovation in artificial intelligence and the cultivation of talent for the regional community.
