Commemorative Lecture by Professor Ju-hyung Park for the 31st Haeam Academic Award

Incheon National University (President: In-jae Lee) announced that **Professor Ju-hyung Park** of the Department of Korean Language Education received the **31st Haeam Academic Award** on Friday, December 12, at Seoul National University.

The Haeam Academic Award was established with funds donated by the late Professor Emeritus Haeam (海巖) Hyung-gyu Kim of Seoul National University to support the development of the Department of Korean Language Education at Seoul National University. The award is presented annually to outstanding early-career scholars under the age of 40 who are alumni of the department and who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievements within the past three years.

Professor Park has conducted active research in the fields of Korean language education and literature education through numerous papers, including “A Study on Poetry Reading Education Centered on Metaphor Expansion” and “A Study on the Role of Literary Readers as Active Collaborators.” He was selected as the award recipient in recognition of his work that integrates literary texts and theories of literature education with practice-oriented research based on actual learner data.

In his commemorative award lecture, Professor Park presented future directions for the development of literature education research, including the constructive linkage between knowledge and understanding, the cyclical integration of comprehension and e-x-p-r-e-s-s-i-o-n, and the discovery of literature education as a domain of cultural communication. He also shared his acceptance remarks, stating that he would continue to pursue scholarship with a sincere and dedicated attitude.
